eLayaway Integration
-
What is Integration?
To get started with eLayaway you must first integrate our payment process into your web site. Currently, there are two ways to integrate eLayaway into your web site: Product Page Integration and Shopping Cart Integration (SCI). The integration process is not difficult but requires knowledge of HTML and web programing.
-
What is Product Page Integration?
Product Page Integration is the simplest method to integrate eLayaway. This option places an “eLayaway Now” button on your individual product pages. When customers click on “eLayaway Now” they are prompted with the eLayaway calculator where they can select payments that fit their budget. Click here to find out more about product page integration.

-
What is Shopping Cart Integration?
Shopping Cart integration involves integrating an eLayaway™ payment option into your existing shopping cart system. During checkout customers have the option to choose eLayaway as their payment method. Upon doing so, they will be prompted with the eLayaway calculator where they can select payments that fit their budget. Click here to find out more about shopping cart integration.

-
What are the requirements to integrate eLayaway into my shopping cart?
Like Product Page Integration, you include the eLayaway javascript libraries into your page. However, this time you include them into the cart page with a special hidden HTML form. The contents of this form are then sent via HTTP post to eLayaway. It’s possible to do this with only HTML and JavaScript, but typically you would populate the hidden form from a database using server side technology like Ruby, ASP, PHP, or Java.
-
Can I receive transaction data without logging into my eLayaway account?
Yes, when integrating eLayaway you have the option to activate our MSI (Merchant Server Integration) feature. This feature will send you transaction data in an XML format for you to feed into your order management system. Additional programming may be required depending on how your system deciphers this transaction data.
-
What are the requirements for the Product Page Integration?
Simply include the prototype and eLayaway javascript library into the product’s web page. Then, using our sample code as a starting point, create an “eLayaway Now” button and calculator filled with the product’s data. All you need is a bit of HTML and JavaScript to be integrated with eLayaway.
-
I am using an off the shelf cart or eCommerce solution. What carts are you compatible with?
Currently, we are compatible with Cardinal Commerce, StoresOnline, and Devix ecommerce solutions. If you are on another platform, please contact us via our Support Form with your name, website, and shopping cart type so we can notify you when integration for your specific cart has been completed.
-
I currently do not take payments through my website. Can I still integrate?
Yes, you can use the eLayaway Product Page Integration. However, further integration may be required to conduct a transaction through eLayaway. Specifically, this will involve creating product variables for our module to read and process the transaction. Depending on your content management system this may involve hard coding values for the variables listed below on each product or service you are defining as payable through eLayaway. A full explanation of each variable is included in our integration documents.
-
I cannot integrate eLayaway using the two forms of integration that you have mentioned. What do I do?
We understand that not all merchants have the capacity to integrate or there are factors out of their control. Therefore, we have created a turnkey solution called our Merchant Showcase. Each Merchant Showcase is a unique Online Catalog hosted by eLayaway. Click here to find out more about the showcase and how merchants use it.

-
Can I use eLayaway for selling services rather than products?
Yes, eLayaway can be used anywhere that you want to take a payment and break it up over a period of time resulting in more affordable, smaller pre-service payments. Currently, eLayaway is being used in travel, restaurants, and elective surgeries.
-
Can I test transactions during integration?
Yes, during the integration process we offer a test server for you to run as many transactions as you need to confirm the application is working properly. An explanation of this process is included with our integration documentation.
-
Do you offer support during the integration process?
Yes, you will be in direct contact with our integration specialists via the eLayaway project management system. Once you register as an eLayaway merchant you will gain access to the system and should you need support, the eLayaway team is always available to assist you.
